AMD will roll out a dual-GPU version of its ATI Radeon HD 3850 graphics chip in May, it has been claimed. The X2-branded board would sit below the current 3870 X2.
The 3850 X2 is said to support between 512MB and 1GB of GDDR 3 or cheap DDR graphics memory, Taiwanese graphics card maker moles claimed. The memory clock will be set to 1.8GHz, apparently.
Little else is known about the part's specs, though it's said that it'll be priced in the $299-379 bracket.
AMD is expected to release the Radeon HD 3830 GPU line next month. Like the 3850 X2, it's based on the 'RV670' core and will fall into the $119-129 price range.
