LG has taken a break from designing phones to launch a handset-lookalike portable media player, the T80.
LG's T80 PMP: a Touch Me successor?
The PMP looks very similar to LG’s Viewty handset - reviewed here (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/11/30/review_lg_ku990_viewty/) - although the T80 is no phone. LG may also have designed the T80 as a replacement to the Touch Me (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/05/17/lg_brings_touch_me_to_uk/) PMP, which was released in May 2007.
The T80 has a 3in, 420 x 240 screen and supports numerous multimedia formats, including AVI, WAV, MP3 and JPEG. An FM tuner and microphone are also included.
A 3in display and 4GB of storage feature
A nice perk for portable telly addicts is the inclusion of a DVB-T tuner. Although it’s not mentioned if shows can be recorded onto the T80's slightly stingy 4GB of storage capacity.
Users will get around two hours of continuous TV viewing from the internal battery or just under six hours when using the PMP’s other features.
So far LG has only announced the T80 in Denmark, where the device costs around €300 (£250/$500).
