O2 to slash 8GB iPhone pricing tomorrow?15th April 2008 11:55 GMT O2 will cut £100 off the price of the Apple iPhone tomorrow, it has been claimed. Carphone Warehouse is said to be planning to match the move. There's no official confirmation yet, of course. The claim was made today by website Mobile Today. If O2 and CW do knock £100 off the price of the iPhone, taking the handset's price to £169, it will undoubtedly further fuel speculation that carriers are clearing out stocks of the 2.5G phone ahead of the widely anticipated introduction of a 3G version in June. Either that, or Apple's sales targets are not being met, prompting an aggressive price reduction in a bid to shift units. It's entirely possible that the talk of a 3G iPhone - much of it engendered by the release of Apple's own iPhone SDK, which contains what appear to be pointers to the chipset the 3G version will use - is dampening sales of the current model. Earlier this month, T-Mobile Germany cut the iPhone's price to €99 - an offer due to expire on 30 June, interestingly enough. O2's offer is said to run until 1 June. 18 comments posted — Comment period finished How much per month?Posted: 12:21 15th April 2008 Good substitute for an iPod at that pricePosted: 12:26 15th April 2008 there's another £100 to be hadPosted: 12:38 15th April 2008 @GlennPosted: 12:41 15th April 2008 I suppose...Posted: 12:44 15th April 2008
