LG telly launch gulls Tinseltown stars
New TV series - or a new series of TVs?

LG has taken the wraps off what it claims is the world’s slimmest LCD TV, dubbed Scarlet, following a launch party that made fools of many Hollywood A-List celebrities.

LG's Scarlet: four HDMI ports and a sexy red back
Confusingly, Scarlet sets will be sold as LG60 models in the US and under the LG6000 name in the UK. The models are just 45mm thick at their thinnest point, making the red-backed, red-buttoned Scarlet LCD design ideal for attaching to your penthouse wall.
The range was initially announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, but LG recently held a glitzy launch party in Hollywood. A host of Tinseltown's finest turned up for the event thinking they were attending the launch of a new TV series.

Slim pickings - well, 45mm to be exact
Still, the goody bag may have included a free Scarlet TV.
Scarlet comes in display sizes ranging from 32in to 52in. The 47in model boasts a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 100Hz refresh rate, whilst every model has four HDMI ports and "hidden" speakers.
A UK release date or price for the Scarlet/LG6000 range hasn’t been confirmed yet, but with LG now advertising the new series of TVs as a new TV series on TV, it can't be far off.
