GTA IV remained the UK's best-selling videogame during its second week on shop shelves, despite the number of copies shifted in Blighty falling by more than 50 per cent.
According to Chart-Track data, the videogame’s UK sales declined by 77 per cent for the week ended 10 May. But the must-have title still managed to hold onto the number one spot, keeping Wii Fit in second position.
The market watcher’s figures also show that Wii Fit sales dropped by 48 per cent during the same period. But whereas the ratio of sales between the two games was nine to one in GTA IV’s favour for the week ended 3 May (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/05/07/chart_track_week_one_gtaiv_sales/), Chart Track found the ratio had fallen to four to one for the week ended 10 May.
Microsoft will be pleased with figures because the Xbox 360 took a 62 per cent share of GTA IV sales in the title’s second sales week, compared to 55 per cent in the first week that GTA IV was available to buy. The PlayStation 3 version accounted for 38 per cent of sales.
