France Telecom's Orange offshoot has formally joined the roster of cellcos that will offer Apple's iPhone in multiple territories.

Orange, which has been selling the iPhone in France since November 2007, will "later this year" roll the handset out to customers in Austria, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Switzerland.

It'll also offer the phone in Egypt, Jordan, the Dominican Republic and a number of Francophone nations in Africa.

Curiously, France was not listed, but it's hard to imagine that Orange won't continue selling the iPhone in its home territory.

Orange's announcement follows similar multi-territory iPhone sales deals signalled by Vodafone and SingTel. Swisscom has said it, like Orange, will offer the handset in Switzerland, so there'll be at least two carriers selling the phone there, as there will be in Italy - Vodafone and TIM - and Australia - Optus and Vodafone.

América Móvil is expected to announce it'll sell the handset throughout Latin American countries.
