If you're a geek with a penchant for pets of the canine kind, here's the accessory for you: a dog lead made out of Cat-5 cable.
Perhaps this could be the new stand-out feature for techies' mutts - computer buff's answer to the crusty's piece of string?

The Cat-5 dog lead
According to the item's creator, the lead is "1.3m long and is adjustable by the ingenious use of a bowline knot allowing it to fit all size of dog.
It is made from good quality Cat-5 cable," he adds.
Only one of these items is available to buy - via online auction house eBay - though we dare say a trip to a nearby network cabinet with a copy of Scouting for Boys is sufficient for anyone to knock out a batch of 'em.
We'd not recommend it - the auction's not there to reward the inventor but to aid UK charity the Lymphoma Association.
