Thailand to get Acer Aspire One first?
25th June 2008 14:30 GMT
With still no official word from Acer on the Aspire One Eee PC rival's release date over here, we're left looking oversees for hints. Specifically to Thailand, where the Small, Cheap Computer is due to go on sale at the start of July.
So claims French-language site Blogeee.net, which has Thai flyer for the product on show. The spec's exactly as expected - 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, 512MB DDR 2 memory, 8GB SSD, 802.11g Wi-Fi etc - and the price is 14,900 Baht.
That's roughly €285, just under the formal €299 Acer said the machine will be priced at when it arrives over here.
Acer said that the UK price will be £199, which at the launch was claimed to be with sales tax included, though online retailers appear to be pricing it up as excluding VAT, taking the overall price of the One to around £240.
