JVC docks into iPod TVs25th June 2008 18:39 GMT JVC’s latest line of HD TVs include all the usual features you’d expect, including HD resolution and HDMI ports. But the range also boasts one slightly quirky feature: an iPod docking station.
JVC's P-Series TVs: all have integrated iPod docks The P-Series consists of a 32in, 42in, 47in and 52in model, all of which have a TeleDock flip-down iPod dock integrated into the stand. Once docked, users control both gadgets through the TV’s remote control, which also features a circular controller similar to the one on the iPod. In addition to playing your iPod’s musical library through the telly’s built-in speakers, the player can also be charged up. Several video modes let you play content at varying resolutions, described as “low” and “higher” by JVC. You can even listen to music while a TV programme’s displayed on-screen. Related stories
JVC hasn't yet confirmed which iPod models work with the P-series, or if it supports the iPhone. The three largest screen sizes each boast a 1080p resolution, but anyone opting for the 32in model will have to make do with a 720p resolution. JVC’s 32in, 42in and 47in models are all available now, but the 52in screen will be available from August. Prices range from $1000 (£500/€640) to $3200 (£1600/€3200), but UK prices or availability dates haven’t been given yet. 2 comments posted — Comment period finished A Good Idea?Posted: 09:28 26th June 2008 Just add USB 3.0 port to the new TVsPosted: 15:23 26th June 2008
