Speedo’s latest swimming gadget may look like a desktop mouse, but it’s actually a waterproof MP3 player designed to keep you amused whilst doing some lengths.

The Aquabeat may only have a measly 1GB of storage, but then you’re not likely to be underwater long enough to justify much more capacity – unless you’re David Blaine.

Waterproof earplugs accompany the player, which can be attached to your body in several locations. For example, the Aquabeat can be strapped around your head, although can’t be very good for serious swimmers concerned about streamlining and water-resistance. Stuffed down the front of your trunks, perhaps?

Audio controls are built directly onto the surface of the player and it’s recharged through USB connection.

The Speedo Aquabeat is available now online for $145 (£75/€90). A UK release date hasn’t surfaced yet.
