Lenovo has revised its ultra-skinny ThinkPad X300 notebook for the Centrino 2 age, revamping the machine's spec and renaming it the X301.
The new model comes with a choice of one of Intel's latest 45nm ultra-low voltage Core 2 Duo processors clocked at 1.2GHz and 1.4GHz. Both have 6MB of L2 cache and sit on a 1066MHz frontside bus.

They also come with up to 2GB of DDR 3 memory, and 128GB of solid-state storage. The laptop's display is a 13.3in, 1440 x 900 panel driven by the graphics core integrated into Intel's GM45 chipset.
Well connected, the X301 comes with the usual Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and versions will be able to be bought with a variety of mobile broadband technologies built in. They'll come with on-board GPS too.
Lenovo also promised WiMAX versions later in the year, though almost certainly only in the US.
Other enhancements include the addition of a DisplayPort monitor connector - the X300 had no external monitor port.
The X301 family goes on sale next week. Prices start at $2599. There's no word yet on UK availability and pricing.
