O2 denies subsidised MacBook broadband sign-up lure

Exclusive O2 has pooh-poohed claims that it has signed a deal with Apple to offer new broadband customers MacBook laptops.
A spokeswoman for the network operator told Register Hardware that it has “no such plans to launch an Apple MacBook laptop offer”. She added that the claim – which first appeared on website Mobile Today - is “untrue”.
According to the website's report, O2 was said to be working on a deal to offer subsidised MacBook laptops to customers signing up for fixed and mobile broadband contracts.
Details were never disclosed of how much the MacBooks would cost as a result of the subsidy, or what O2's broadband price plan would be.
So, if you want a MacBook then it seems the only way to get one is to, well, pay for it.
