LG notches up second 8Mp phone

Take that Samsung!

LG isn’t going to let Pixon (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/09/29/samsung_pixon_confirmed/) make Samsung the only phone manufacturer able to offer two eight-megapixel handsets. So the South Korean firm’s created a second super-snapper phone of its own.

The phone’s thought to be called the LG-KC780 and, although LG’s yet to confirm the talker’s existence, a very official-looking picture of the eight-megapixel device has already been leaked online.

Additional specifications haven’t come through yet, but as you can see from the picture, the KC780 is a slider phone with a fairly small screen – at least when compared to the iPhone 3G or T-Mobile G1.

It’s reasonable to assume that LG’s second eight-megapixel talker - it's first being the LG-KC910 (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/09/04/lg_launches_8mp_kc910/) - will come equipped with a memory card slot where all those juicy eight-megapixel snaps can be stored. Hopefully, video capture will be possible too.

The KC780 will probably also support HSDPA 3G connections for fast web browsing and, potentially, a touch-sensitive screen.

A launch date or price isn’t known yet.
