But only in Baltimore

First Acer, now Lenovo. The ThinkPad company has rolled out a laptop with WiMax on board to cater for wireless broadband buffs in Baltimore.
The WiMax line-up comprises the ThinkPad X301, T400, SL500 and SL300. Prices start at $720, and they're available now to punters in the US city who want to sign up for Sprint's Xohm WiMax service.

Lenovo'sThinkPad X301: now with WiMax... but only in Baltimore
Many of the machines are based on Intel's Centrino 2 platform, which handily includes a combo Wi-Fi/WiMax add-in card option, formerly codenamed 'Echo Peak'.
The SL500's a 15.4in machine and comes with Nvidia GeForce 9300M graphics. The T400 is a 14in system and the SL300 a 13.3in box, as is the X301.
Lenovo said it will roll-out more WiMax models later in the year, adding the broadband technology to the ThinkPad X200, W700, W500 and Sl400, and the IdeaPad Y530. These introductions will presumably be timed to tie in with Xohm's expansion to Chicago and Washington.
