Mini-Note 2133 to be joined by Mini 1000

HP's US online store has revealed that company's Mini-Note line is due to expanded - or condensed - with a new model, the Mini 1000.

An ad for the Mini 1000 appeared on the site over the weekend, though it now seems to have been pulled. Screengrabs of the banner reveal not only the machine's name but also that it's less than 25mm thick and weighs just over a kilo.

More than that it's impossible to say. The black 1000 looks like the current grey-hued Mini-Note 2133, and it's priced at $400, the same as the cheapest 2133 HP is selling.

Some pundits have suggested the machine has a 10in screen, but there's nothing beyond the model number to indicate that. The 2133 has an 8.9in screen, so how does that fit into the model code?

The 2133 uses VIA's C7-M processor, though a special version due this December, the Vivienne Tam Edition, is actually Atom based. Maybe the 1000 is too. Or maybe it's got a VIA Nano. Or an AMD 'Bobcat'...

Whatever, it's launch can't be far off, and we'll find out then.
