A teenager’s been sentenced to life behind bars for killing another boy in a row over an Xbox 360.

Shane Boyd, 16, stabbed Conor Black, also 16, to death with a kitchen knife at a house party in Manchester last August.

Why? Although reports differ on this point, the general consensus seems to be that Black failed to return Boyd’s Microsoft console on time.

The stabbing severed one of Black’s major arteries and he later bled to death. Boyd also hit the boy over the head with a beer can.

Judge Clement Goldstone described the argument as a “minor dispute”, and managed to get the console’s name wrong when he said that “carrying and using that knife was no way to deal with a dispute about a PlayStation”.

Boyd will have to serve at least 11 years in prison. ®
