The latest addition to the growing netbook market has emerged: a colourful, stylish machine, courtesy of Samsung.

Samsung's N310: has a frameless screen and 'pebble' keyboard

The N310 has a scratch-proof and “frameless” 10.1in, 1024 x 576 display, while the body also features a pebble-esque keyboard. Apparently the machine’s “sophisticated styling” was designed by Naoto Fukasawa – an international designer who’s won numerous design awards.

Under the hood you’ll find an as-yet unspecified Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive. Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity are both included, while HSDPA 3G support is an optional extra.

N310 and friend

Around one of the N310’s colourful sides lurks a three-in-one memory card slot and three USB ports. Samsung’s built a 1.3Mp webcam into the inside of the machine’s lid and the four-cell battery will hold out for around five hours, the firm claimed.

Samsung's N310 will be available in Europe and in North America this coming May. The company didn't say how much the netbook will cost. ®
