HP pumps out Mini PC trio
Bite-size machines for 'information snacking'
27th May 2009 11:35 GMT
In an effort to satisfy customers' appetites for small and portable PCs, HP has expanded its Mini laptop line with the addition of three “information snacking” models.

HP's Mini 110 models flank the Mini 1101 (center)
All three models sport 10.1in displays and your choice of either a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 or N280 processor. But while the Mini 1101’s targeted at business types, the Mini 110 XP and Mini 110 Mi are hungry for internet-focused consumers.
The 110 XP comes with a 1GB memory and either a 32GB solid-state drive or 160GB hard drive. It also features integrated 3G and, if you’re really into your video, the option of a Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for 1080p playback.

Mini 1101 is only available in "high-gloss black"
Unlike like its Windows-based chum, the Mini 110 Mi runs on an HP-developed Linux-based OS, with applications for web browsing, email, online video and the likes. The machine has twice the memory of the 110 XP, but your only storage option is a 250GB hard drive.
If you opt for the HP Mini 1101 then you’ll be able to choose between Windows XP Home, XP Pro and Vista as your OS. You’ll also have the choice of a three-cell or six-cell battery. HP hasn’t said anything about what’s underneath the machine’s shell, which – by the way – has a “high-gloss black” finish.

The Mini 110 models provide a selection of OS options
Both editions of the Mini 110 can be fitted with “Pink Chic”, “Black Swirl” or “White Swirl” imprint finishes and will be available in North America from 10 June – although some bodywork designs won’t be available until 8 July. The Mini 110 XP will cost $330 (£206/€236), but the Mini 110 Mi will have a slightly cheaper $280 (£175/€200) price tag.
The Mini 1101 will be available from 1 June for $330. HP hasn’t announced UK launch dates or prices for any of the Mini machines yet. ®
