Thumb Down

the fascists are back in charge in Deutschland again then...

so are they banning movies too then?

films like hostel are much worse imo. hostal has no storyline at all and is just about people being tortured to death... proper sick film

btw - counter strike isnt very violent at all. im sure the guy also watched the news and wanked - yet both of these arent listed as causes.

why dont people accept that some people are mentally defficient - rather than blame us all.

millions of people play 'violent' video games yet never perform a violent act in their life - so there cannot be a correlation surely?

and suppose there IS a correlation?...

...Suppose we determine conclusively that one out of a hundred thousand game players is influenced to do something violent. Are we now willing to, en masse, sacrifice our right to freedom of thought and expression? To let the government and pressure groups decide what's safe for us to hear, see, and think?

Why is the debate even -about- whether there is a link? Would a proven link justify a fatal blow to our most fundamental freedoms?

I've been trying to figure this out for a while. Would those saying, "butbut, there's no link!" like to state here whether they're ready to delete their copies of Doom and Gears of War (and, presumably shortly thereafter, your copies of Die Hard and Transformers) when the link is found?

Are you really willing to bow so easily?

Game dreams are made of these.....

Thumb Up

Germany has already been doing this since the selling of Quake 3.

Quake 3 is not allowed in Germany but the source code to Quake 3 is out and free and many games based on Quake 3 ARE allowed in Germany.

PADMAN FOREVER!
