Sony confirms second-gen Vaio netbook
Taking the P to new heights?
10th July 2009 10:46 GMT
Sony has let slip that a second incarnation of its Vaio P mini laptop line is in the works.
The first P was only officially launched back in January at CES in Las Vegas, but the Japanese electronics giant has now let slip that the Vaio P 2 will be launched in October or November this year.
A Sony representative also told website Tech Radar that the refreshed P will sport a faster boot time than the first-generation model, which can take more than three minutes to boot into a usable state, as online performance videos have shown.
It’s not yet known what the asking price for the Vaio P 2 will be, but – to give you some idea – the first-generation model will set you back upwards of £650 ($1058/€750). ®
