Intel rejects Pine Trail delay claim
'Shipments in the second half of the year'

Intel has rejected recent reports that the launch of its next-generation Pine Trail chips will be delayed.
“Pine Trail is on schedule”, said Mooly Eden, general manager of Intel’s mobile platforms group, in a presentation at the Intel Technology Summit in San Francisco yesterday.
“We are going to ship revenue shipments in the second half of the year”, he said in reference to Pine Trail – Intel’s netbook-centric Atom CPU and chipset combo series. “You come to IDF and see the maturity of the product”.
His comments follow leaks from industry sources earlier this week, which claimed that the launch of several Pine Trail variants - including Pine Trail-M for mobile devices – had been pushed back until Q1 2010.
Intel has kept somewhat coy about exactly when Pine Trail will emerge. It was first expected to launch during Q4 of this year, but information later leaked by an Asia-based mole later narrowed the launch down to October 2009.
